📌 This #religion began in the 7th century A.D., though its #roots are believed to begin in the #city of #mecca, located in modern-day Saudi Arabia.

� Followers of Islam aim to #live a #life of complete #submission to Allah.

🌸 In the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, there is a #religious#holiday called Ramadan (Arabic: رَمَضَان).

🌸 The exact #dates of #ramadan#change#every#year .

💚Ramadan is the Muslim holy month of #fasting .

💚Three words defining Ramadan:

🌸 Fasting

🌸 Praying

🌸 being around loved ones.

Ramadan teaches Muslims to practice #self-discipline, self-control, #sacrifice , and #empathy .

•┈┈•⊰Why is #fasting so #important this #month ?

Fasting symbolises one of the #five#pillars that constitute the

main #belief and #actions of a practising #muslim .

•┈┈•⊰The Five Pillars are the core beliefs and practices of Islam:

1)Profession of Faith (shahada).

2)Prayer (salat).

3)Alms (zakat). I

4) 🌸 Fasting (sawm). In the ninth #month of the Islamic #calendar , all #healthy#adults Muslims must refrain from eating and drinking to renew their awareness and gratitude for all that God has provided in their lives, including the Qur'an, which was revealed for the first time during this month.

5) Pilgrimage (hajj).

🌸 Ramadan is #healthy -

Low cholesterol increases cardiovascular health, greatly reducing the risk of suffering from #heart#disease, a #heart attack, or a #stroke .

📌 The holiday of Eid al-Fitr (Arabic:عيد الفطر) marks the end of Ramadan.

📌 One of the first books I read as a child was 'El Manuscrito Carmesi' in Spanish, and in English, it's 'El Manuscript Crimesí' written by Antonio Gala. It is a historical novel about the Moors in Spain during the last period of AL-Andalux…, and it taught me very interesting things about the 'Ummah'.
